Job Description

  • Responsible for working with Engineering, Marketing, Sales & Senior Leadership as part of a cohesive team that together drives the planning, development, positioning and launch activities for the product portfolio to achieve market position, market share, and growth goals for existing
  • Responsible to serve as an internal and external champion for the product offerings throughout their life cycles
  • Responsible for providing support for marketing strategies, sales readiness and partner initiatives based on insight gained from regular interactions with key customers, partners and the market at large

Responsibilities

Market Assessment

  • Solicit customer, prospect and partner input (via customer calls, site visits, trade shows, surveys, win/loss analyses, etc.) to understand and define customer personas, use scenarios, business pains and solution requirements to better champion our products and services
  • Assess market and technology trends, market sizing and market opportunities through research with analysts and other sources
  • Conduct competitive analysis relative to product positioning, market segmentation, pricing and support strategy to determine marketing/sales opportunities and threats and to establish differentiation and value propositions

Product Marketing Management

  • Work to define new offerings road map strategy, working closely with internal teams
  • Define buyer personas, product positioning, competitive differentiation and key market messages/value propositions
  • Define and manage systematic process for executing product launches
  • For each scheduled release, develop and communicate launch plan and launch milestones
  • Coordinate new offering release communication plan for customers and partners
  • Provide product marketing support for trade shows, events and channel
  • Review and assist in the ongoing maintenance of marketing initiatives
  • Monitor and manage pricing of product and product mix to meet revenue targets and win market share from competition
  • Validate new product/features with cost vs. market potential research
  • Revenue modeling, pricing and packaging
  • Create feature descriptions, product positioning and sales enablement tools

Customer Loyalty/Retention

  • Assist with creating customer reference stories, case studies and use case-based webinars
  • Work with training team to develop product launch training plan
  • Consult with customer success to ensure appropriate services for the product
  • Regularly engage with customers in online community

Technical Product Management

  • Work closely with Engineering to define and prioritize future product direction and requirements including releases which address the key needs and use cases of targeted markets
  • Work with engineering to make decisions about sun setting products and features
  • Work with engineering to ensure product is consistently and appropriately branded
  • Gather and document feedback and requirements from prospects and customers, facilitating technical product road map planning

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field necessary
  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • Knowledgeable in technology and/or enterprise software
  • Solid customer insight enabling development of products that meet market needs
  • Experience developing and implementing product launch plans
  • Pricing strategy skills and experience
  • Passionate self-starter with ability to prioritize, implement and champion products
  • Ability to multi-task several simultaneous projects
  • Ability to effectively engage, interact with and mobilize multi-discipline teams at all levels
